Academic background: After graduating from high school in Kiel, Germany, and an exchange year in Bristol, New Hampshire, USA, Niels van Quaquebeke started his studies of Psychology at the University of Hamburg. There, he majored in Pedagogical and Industrial & Organizational Psychology. As part of his specialization, he was trained in Conflict Mediation and Group Moderation tought by Dr. Alexander Redlich and Prof. Dr. Friedemann Schulz von Thun. In 2003, he completed his Master’s thesis on the "psychological basis of corporate knowledge management" in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute IPK in Berlin, Germany. Subsequently, Niels worked as lecturer at the Department of Social Psychology in Hamburg and has been a visiting scholar at various schools, such as at the Aston Business School, the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Monash University, and the

Australian Graduate School of Management. His dissertation "Respect & Leadership: A Psychological Perspective" was finished in the beginning of 2008. Since then, Niels has been working first as a post-doc research fellow and then as an assistant professor of organizational behavior for the Rotterdam School of Management at the Erasmus University. In 2011 he then assumed a position as associate professor of leadership and organizational behavior at the Kuehne Logistics University - THE KLU.
