Professional background: Dr. Niels van Quaquebeke completed a one-year civil service after high school at the Kieler Fenster Mental Clinic. Later, while being enrolled at the University of Hamburg, he took up a part- time job in a corporate design agency (pur.pur), being in charge of the newly developed new media unit. In the years to come, Niels  stayed in that arena, designing and programming websites for small and medium entreprises.  In 2000, he began working in the Streaming Unit of AOL Time Warner where he spent over two years developing the strategic positioning of the broadband features of the AOL client (AOL Highspeed). In 2002, he was accepted to the prestigious McKinsey & Inc. Management Consultancy Summer Fellowship Program. Throughout the last years and next to his academic career, Dr. Niels van Quaquebeke has continued to work as a freelance business consultant in the areas of
