Academic background:After high school in Hannover (Germany) and Houston, Texas (USA), Jan Borkowski started his studies of business administration at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany) in 2000. He majored in international management, work and organizational psychology, and logistics, also focusing on these topics during one year of studies at Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2003/2004. In 2005 Jan Borkowski collaborated in a study on “Networking in Intercultural Contexts” in China and in 2006 completed his Master’s thesis on “Control strategies for material provision transports in the body shop” in cooperation with Audi AG in Ingolstadt (Germany).

After two years with The Boston Consulting Group, Jan Borkowski started his research into antecedents of respectful leadership as

part of the RespectResearchGroup in October 2008. He is doing his PhD on the same topic at Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany).
