Academic background:   After receiving her Bachelor's degree in social as well as work- and organizational psychology in 2005, Suzanne van Gils decided to participate in the Research Master program in social psychology at the Vrije Universiteit. As part of this program she worked on two research projects, firstly a project on Schadenfreude, and secondly a project concentrating on power and sacrifice within the context of romantic relationships, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Caryl Rusbult. Next to her studies, Suzanne served as editor in chief of student magazine The Free Mind. Currently she is still involved in online magazine In-Mind < www.in-mind.org>. In May 2008 Suzanne became part of the RespectResearchGroup, she focuses on leader-follower interactions, and specifically the role of these interactions in Ethical leadership, under supervision of Dr. Niels van Quaquebeke

and Prof.Dr. Daan van Knippenberg at the Rotterdam School of Management.
