Academic background:After having gratuated from high school in Hamburg in 2004, Anna Beregova started her studies of Psychology at the University of Hamburg with a focus on Human Resources, Industrial & Organizational Psychology and clinical psychology. As a tutor she was teaching in the seminar “Images of humanity in psychology” from 2006 to 2007, aiming to convey the enormous variety of ideas in psychology to younger university students. Anna Beregova was working together with Prof. Bernhard Dahme and Dr. Andreas von Leupoldt on an empirical research study which was published as “Films for eliciting emotional states in children” in 2007 in the journal Behavior Research Methods. She presented this work in May 2006 at the “24th Symposium - Unit of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy” in Würzburg.

In addition Anna Beregova studies in her minor Journalism and Communication Sciences with a particular interest in research. She helped to organize the congress of “Research Network” together with the TV and Radio station NDR in June 2007. Together with the lecturer and journalist Thomas Schnedler she conducted in 2008 a project on the topic of “Career entry for professional newcomers in Journalism”. The results will be published in June 2009 in the next edition of the “Research Network” magazine. In summer 2008 Anna Beregova spent one semester studying abroad at the University of Vienna. Under the guidance of Dr. Andreas Olbrich-Baumann she was investigating the intellectual and personal affordances of successful Austrian members of the Parliament.

From 2007 to 2009 Anna Beregova was politically active on the board of the association Hanseatic Model United Nations. She was organising the annual Hamburg Model United Nations Conference and the weekly simulations of the UN-conference sessions.
