Personal statement:Respect! A myth? In my view - respect is the essence that keeps together any area of society such as family, school, politics and the workplace. Furthermore, it is the very basic precondition for mutual understanding and human beings living together in peace. The old testament thousands of years ago already says that “the one who treats others with respect will be honoured”. It is obvious and therefore even more important for our modern society to find the key to respectful coexistence at any level of society.

In my thesis I am dealing with the „Intercultural differences in perception of respectful leadership“. It is for me of particular interest to investigate these distinctions as especially when employees from various cultures work together respect is absolutely necessary to ensure dignified and successful teamwork

as well as contentment in their working area.
