Academic background: Dr. Swantje Möller studied English and German literature, linguistics, education studies and musicology at the universities of Kiel, Warwick, and Cologne and graduated in 2003 with the First State Diploma in English and German. In her final thesis she analysed representations of crisis in modern and postmodern literature. Her PhD on the relationship of ethics and literature in the novels of Ian McEwan (University of Cambridge and Cologne University) was supported by a doctoral fellowship from the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) and was completed in summer 2008 (summa cum laude). She participated in summer schools organised by the German National Academic Foundation on the topics „Postmodern Conceptions of the Self“ (Prof. Dr. Meinhard Winkgens / Prof. Dr. Stefan Horlacher) and „The Common Good – A Phantom?“ (Prof.
