Personal statement: Growing up between two cultures, as I did, teaches you how to look things from different perspectives. How should I behave in several situations, how should I try to resolve a problem or look up for a solution taking into considerations different opinions? Respect is a subject that has an important role in everyday situations. We should always respect others and also
be respected. Although it is understood in many different ways, it is something that we all practice. Since we are children we always hear the word respect and it is the time where we learn how to behave respectfully. It is why I’m interested in working this topic around schoolchildren. What do children understand under respect and how could it be taught? Children are the future of our world, a respectful world where we all want to leave peacefully.
